His Ph.D. thesis in History, Journalism and International Relations, prepared through an EU-funded doctoral scholarship, was awarded Magna cum Laude.
Overview
Researcher Dr. Andrei Vasiliu has a „Magna cum Laude” Ph.D. in History with an innovative interdisciplinary thesis on international relations and mass-media: „The Anglo-French policy of appeasement reflected in Romanian central newspapers between 1930-1939”. His research mainly covers not only the sources of the Anglo-French appeasement policy, the evolution of the relations between the two powers in the last decade of the interwar years and their relations with Romania, but also the development of the Romanian central written press alongside its diplomatic relations with Great Britain and France in the aforementioned time period.

Past Experiences
- A graduate of the Psychological Pedagogy Programme which is mandatory for teaching in university and K-12 systems. He participated in preparing and teaching several courses to Journalism students at the „Valahia” University in Târgoviște .
- The editor-in-chief of the local newspaper „Jurnal de Dâmbovița”, a prestigious publication – with print and online versions – that has a history of over 27 years and is a founding member of the first Press Owners Association of Romania.
- A consultant at the „Citadel of Romance” Cultural Center for UNESCO in Târgoviște and is one of the founders of „The House of Romance” Museum, a unique cultural space in Romania under the patronage of FEACU–UNESCO, which covers the history of the Romance – a music genre belonging to Romania’s cultural heritage and the history of „The Golden Chrysanthemum Festival”, the longest living music festival in Romania.
- One of the main organizers of the „Sorbonne-Valahia” Roundtables in 2018 in Târgoviște (the first edition was organized by the Sorbonne-Nouvelle University in Paris, 2017), which took place under the patronage of the National Commission for UNESCO and the European Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations (FEACU).
